Security Officer

Duties Monitor security cameras and surveillance systems to detect suspicious activity or security breaches. Conduct regular patrols of the facility, including buildings, perimeter fences, and parking areas, to maintain physical security. Control access points using advanced access control systems, verifying identities and authorizations of employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors. Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, or incidents by following established emergency response procedures. Write detailed incident reports documenting security breaches, accidents, or other noteworthy events with clarity and accuracy. Perform background checks on new employees or contractors as part of the hiring process to ensure compliance with security policies. Manage conflict de-escalation techniques when dealing with unruly individuals or disputes to maintain a safe environment. Skills Proven experience in surveillance techniques and CCTV operation. Knowledge of law enforcement procedures and legal requirements related to security activities. Ability to perform first aid procedures including CPR and AED operation confidently. Skilled in manual handling and heavy lifting to assist with equipment or emergency situations safely. Strong conflict management and de-escalation skills to handle challenging situations professionally. Familiarity with firearm handling, taser use, and other security equipment in accordance with regulations. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally at all times. Understanding of security regulations compliance, loss prevention strategies, and emergency response procedures.
