Purchasing Assistant - Imports
JOB OBJECTIVE
Comprehensively manage the national and international purchasing process of Polybags Perú, guaranteeing the timely supply of raw materials, spare parts, supplies, machinery, and infrastructure, through efficient negotiation with national and foreign suppliers, mainly from China. Likewise, ensure that imports are developed in an agile, secure manner and aligned with the company's strategic objectives and the organization's expansion projects.
JOB PROFILE
We are looking for a professional with a background in Foreign Trade, International Business, or related fields, with solid experience in imports and international negotiation. They must possess strategic vision, analytical capacity, and results orientation, contributing to the strengthening of the supply chain and the sustainable growth of Polybags Perú.
FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Purchasing and Import Management
- Manage the integral import purchasing process, from quotation to receipt of goods.
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery times, and Incoterms with international suppliers, mainly from China.
- Prepare, issue, and follow up on international purchase orders.
- Coordinate with customs agents, logistics operators, and carriers to guarantee the correct nationalization of goods.
- Perform permanent follow-up on the status of shipments and deliveries.
Supplier Management
- Identify, evaluate, and approve new national and international suppliers.
- Maintain strategic commercial relationships with key suppliers.
- Evaluate supplier performance considering quality, cost, service, and compliance.
Support for Expansion Projects
- Manage the acquisition of machinery, infrastructure, equipment, and supplies required for the implementation of new projects.
- Coordinate delivery schedules with international suppliers to ensure compliance with established deadlines.
- Participate in the search for new supply alternatives that contribute to the continuous improvement of the organization.
Control and Follow-up
- Monitor the status of imports and anticipate possible risks or contingencies.
- Timely inform General Management about critical purchases and progress of imports.
- Keep all documentation related to contracts, purchase orders, invoices, and customs documents organized and updated.
- Ensure compliance with internal purchasing and foreign trade policies.
ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
- Professional degree or bachelor's degree in Foreign Trade, International Business, or related fields.
- Desirable specialization or diploma in International Logistics, Foreign Trade, Supply Chain, or Purchasing.
- Advanced oral and written English.
- Desirable knowledge of the Mandarin language (not exclusive).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel.
OFFICE AUTOMATION AND LANGUAGE KNOWLEDGE
Office Automation
- Microsoft Word: Intermediate Level.

WORK EXPERIENCE

- Proven experience negotiating with foreign suppliers, preferably from China.
- Experience in industrial, manufacturing, or productive sector companies.
- Knowledge in import processes, coordination with customs agents, and logistics operators.
- Handling of Incoterms, foreign trade documentation, and shipment tracking.
- Experience in the acquisition of raw materials, spare parts, machinery, equipment, and infrastructure will be highly valued.
