Senior Backend Engineer

Pogos is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with strong Node.js expertise to join our growing team. AI-first development is part of our daily workflow, helping engineers design, build, and ship software faster and with higher quality.  You will work on a modern integration and automation platform that connects eCommerce, ERP, warehouse, and fulfillment systems, enabling merchants and operators to run complex commerce operations at scale.

In this role, you will design and build secure, scalable backend services and APIs that power our platform and support a growing global customer base.

Use AI-driven development workflows to accelerate engineering productivity

Design and build scalable distributed backend systems

Develop and maintain high-performance APIs and services

Architect and evolve microservices and backend infrastructure

Improve system performance, reliability, and scalability

Lead technical design discussions and contribute to architecture decisions

Perform code reviews and mentor engineers

Collaborate with product, frontend, and infrastructure teams

Troubleshoot production issues and drive solutions end-to-end

5+ years of backend engineering experience

Strong experience building Node.js backend services

Regular use of AI-assisted development tools in daily engineering workflows

Experience designing REST APIs and distributed systems

Experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases

Experience building systems in cloud environments

Strong understanding of microservices architecture

Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines

Strong knowledge of software design and system architecture

Strong English communication skills and ownership mindset

Nice to Have

Experience with event-driven systems or message queues

Experience with containerized environments

Familiarity with automated testing frameworks

Experience mentoring engineers
