Photonics Design Engineer (m/f/d)

Your Tasks Responsibility for the entire tape-out process including circuit coordination, layout integration, DRC clearance, documentation, and release Coordination of several parallel tape-out projects Interface management with foundries and external manufacturing partners Alignment of designs with process specifications and clarification of design rule conflicts Participation in the development and validation of PDKs Optimization of design workflows through automation, layout reuse, and review processes Supervision and support of junior engineers in PIC layout, verification, and tape-out Contribution of design insights to the photonic technology roadmap Development of new components and optimization strategies

Your Profile Master's degree in photonics, electrical engineering, applied physics, or a comparable field with at least three years of industry experience or a PhD Experience in the design of integrated photonics and large-scale PIC layout from concept to tape-out Experience in the coordination of tape-outs including DRC, documentation, and release, as well as in collaboration with foundries and knowledge of process specifications Knowledge of photonic simulation with FDTD, Eigenmode Expansion, and circuit-level simulation Experience with PIC layout tools and understanding of component physics Very good Python skills Very good English skills German skills are an advantage
