Solicitor - Property Litigation (Possession & Enforcement)

Are you a Solicitor who likes a busy caseload, enjoys the detail of landlord and tenant law and wants to help shape a team as well as run your own files? This is a chance to join a specialist Claims department at a growing property business, working alongside the Head of Department on a large volume of residential and commercial possession and enforcement matters. You'll be the team's go-to legal expert. You'll run your own caseload and also guide and support the wider Claims team, making sure every matter is resolved accurately and on time, within procedural deadlines and in line with regulatory requirements. If you want real responsibility, plenty of variety and a route into leadership, this role is worth a look.

What you'll be doing

• Running your own caseload of service charge, ground rent and possession matters, both residential and commercial, and staying ahead of it
• Reviewing claims, assessing their merits and giving clients clear, commercial advice
• Preparing and approving notices, claims, applications and court documents
• Handling escalated matters and advising on possession and enforcement strategy
• Advising on breach of covenant matters and general landlord and tenant queries
• Helping with day-to-day supervision of the team and building a collaborative, supportive, high-performing culture
• Helping train and develop colleagues, so everyone knows the department's procedures and the technical side of its work
• Supporting the growth of the business and the people in it

• Excellent legal research and analytical skills
• The ability to manage a varied, high-volume caseload independently
• Strong organisation, and the drive to act without waiting to be asked
• Clear, confident communication with clients, colleagues and other parties
• Strong client relationship and stakeholder management skills
• Experience of dispute resolution involving money claims on all County Court case management tracks

It would be great if you also have

• Experience of general landlord and tenant work on long residential leases, including breaches of covenant, service charge and ground rent debt recovery
