Fire Safety Advisor

We are working with a rapidly growing property management firm to find a motivated and knowledgeable Fire Safety Advisor.

The Role: Fire Safety Advisor Location: Home based with travel to the South East Region Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week Reports to: Head of Fire Safety

Job Summary

Working within an ever-growing property management company the role requires a motivated and knowledgeable individual to carry out Health, Safety and Fire Safety advice and risk assessments across our customer portfolio sites. The individual will also be required to carry out Fire Door inspections within the required buildings to meet Building Safety Regulations. The successful applicant needs to be a good team worker but also have the ability to work safely independently. You will report to the organisations Fire Safety Manager.

Responsibilities & Duties

The position requires travel nationally, but planning will allow the team to concentrate travel to specific areas, the successful candidate will be supported by an experienced team within the organisation and will be provided with additional training, where required, to improve the candidate's knowledge and experience. Some of the main responsibilities of the successful candidate will be:

• Undertake regular site Fire Risk Assessment and Health and Safety Assessment.
• Carry out Fire Door Inspections to buildings that are over 11 meters in height within our customer portfolio.
• Ensure buildings conform to the latest Fire Related building regulations and technical standards.
• Provide health and safety advice to associates within the organisation to assist their health, safety and wellbeing.
• Working with various organisational departments plan required remediation works on assessed sites to ensure any work is completed to the required standard by competent contractors.
• Provide a practical and methodical approach to solving problems linked to Health, Safety and Fire Safety of sites.
• Provide advice in connection with applications for Building Regulations Approval on Fire Related matters.

Qualifications & Skills

• NEBOSH General Certificate or NVQ equivalent.
• Recognised Fire Risk Assessment qualification at level 4 or above
• Fire Door Inspection Qualification
• IOSH Technical Member or working towards IFE/IFSM Member is required
• NFRAR membership required
• Passive Fire Protection Qualification (Desirable)
• Fire Engineering qualification (beneficial)
• Previous experience in a Health and Safety Advisory Role (beneficial)
• Previous experience in a Fire Safety Role (beneficial)

Special Requirements

Working hours are 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday. The position is home based but will require traveling to site.
