Data and Integration Architect at Plesner
You will be responsible for the architecture. And you will help build the solutions that give our colleagues more time to focus on our clients’ matters. As a Data and Integration Architect at Plesner, you will take technical ownership of our data warehouse and integrations in Microsoft Azure. Client, matter and financial data must be easy to find and reliable. It must be possible to automate manual tasks and use AI in everyday work. You will lay the foundations for this in close collaboration with specialists in IT, finance and legal workflows.
About the role Work is already under way. The new integration platform uses an event-driven architecture in Azure and is designed to accommodate the system changes planned for the coming years. The initial architectural decisions have been made, existing integrations have been mapped, and the first entities have been documented. You will build on this work and take responsibility for developing the architecture further and turning it into operational solutions. Together with colleagues, management and external partners, you will draw up a prioritised plan for further development. A shared data foundation will provide better insight into clients and sectors, as well as a stronger basis for pricing and monitoring our matters.
Your three main responsibilities: Plesner’s own data foundation You will further develop the architecture and data models in our enterprise data warehouse (EDW) and plan a phased transition to bring more data processing and business logic into Plesner’s own environment. Our aim is to have control of our architecture, data models and code. Throughout the transition, you will ensure that critical data flows and reports continue to work, and collaborate with data owners on shared definitions, data quality and secure access to data. Connecting our systems You will develop the integration platform’s API and event layers in .NET and build reusable integrations with our data warehouse and systems covering HR, finance, time recording, matter and document management, and identity, among other areas. Working with specialists in these areas, you will ensure that the integrations support their workflows. You will help make data and functionality from our data warehouse and integration platform available to AI solutions, for example through Model Context Protocol (MCP). Together with colleagues, you will establish which needs the solutions should address and how to manage access and safeguard confidentiality. You will migrate existing integrations from legacy, self-hosted environments to Azure and lead the integration work for upcoming system changes. Working with IT Operations, you will monitor and maintain existing PowerShell scripts, background services and scheduled jobs until they are replaced, ensuring that functionality is preserved. Shared development practices You will establish DataOps with CI/CD and shared standards for development, testing, automated releases, error handling, monitoring and documentation. You will ensure that colleagues and external partners follow these standards and that their work meets the required quality standards. Changes must be controlled and traceable. You will ensure that confidential and sensitive data is handled correctly throughout the integration chain.
About you You have experience in designing and developing data platforms and data warehouses based on Microsoft Azure. You are used to taking responsibility for architecture and technical decisions, and you take a hands-on role in implementation. Essential experience and skills: solid experience with C# and both .NET Framework and modern .NET
solid experience with SQL Server or comparable relational databases, as well as SQL, data modelling and ETL/ELT
proficiency with the command line (CLI) and PowerShell
experience in modernising or optimising existing solutions in self-hosted environments and managing background services and scheduled jobs on servers
experience with system integration and APIs, and an understanding of event-driven integration
experience with cloud-based data platforms in Microsoft Azure
experience with CI/CD, version control and automated quality assurance for data solutions
the ability to translate architectural principles into solutions and standards that others can work with.
Desirable experience: practical experience with REST, queues, webhooks and asynchronous processing
experience with Azure App Service, API Management, Service Bus and Azure SQL
experience with Azure DevOps and Infrastructure as Code
experience in an organisation with stringent requirements for data security and confidentiality.
You ask how colleagues work before choosing a technical solution. You explain your choices, make the implications clear and share your knowledge so that others can continue developing the solutions. You are keen to try AI in your own work, for example to understand existing code and support development, testing and documentation. You critically assess the results and share your experiences with colleagues.
Your colleagues at Plesner You will join IT within Plesner’s Business Support function and report directly to our CIO, Claus Egholm Nielsen. Specialists in finance, CRM and legal workflows will contribute their requirements and expertise. You will work with IT Operations on monitoring and reliable operations, and with external development partners to develop solutions and build knowledge internally.
