Senior Team Lead

Role Description The Senior Team Lead is a full-time, on-site role based in Kampala, responsible for overseeing a sales or credit team to achieve set targets and maintain high performance standards. This role includes planning and assigning daily tasks, coaching and mentoring team members, and monitoring individual and team results. The Senior Team Lead will ensure compliance with company policies, credit procedures, and regulatory requirements, while promoting ethical lending and customer-centric service. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing loan applications, guiding staff on risk assessment, resolving escalated client issues, and preparing regular performance and operational reports for management. The role also involves collaborating with other departments to improve processes, participating in recruitment and training, and driving continuous improvement in productivity and service quality.
Qualifications
Strong leadership and people management skills, including team supervision, performance coaching, and conflict resolution. Experience in microfinance, banking, or financial services, with knowledge of credit processes, loan products, and risk assessment. Proficiency in sales and target-driven environments, including pipeline management and client relationship development. Solid analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills for interpreting data and making informed decisions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with clients, teams, and senior management. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Comfort with basic digital tools and office software (e.g., MS Office, CRM or loan management systems). Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field; relevant professional certifications in credit or finance are an added advantage. Prior experience in a supervisory or team lead role, ideally within a financial institution or microfinance environment. Demonstrated integrity, accountability, and commitment to non-discriminatory, customer-centered service.
