Python Team Leader

We are looking for a professional with solid experience in Python and backend, the ability to investigate complex problems, and a willingness to work with documents, data, and artificial intelligence. They must be able to understand business rules, communicate with non-technical teams, lead developers, and take responsibility for processes running in production. It is also important to have attention to detail, analytical capacity, and experience working with systems where the results of artificial intelligence models must be constantly validated and adjusted.

Main technical skills:

• Python 3.9. or higher
• Django and backend services development.
• PostgreSQL and SQLAlchemy.
• Design, development, maintenance, and execution of ETL processes.
• Processing of PDF and JSON documents.
• Integration with Azure Document Intelligence.
• Use of language models such as Claude and OpenAI.
• Construction and maintenance of prompts, templates, and extraction schemas.
• LangFlow and processing flows with artificial intelligence.
• Docker and execution of applications in local, QA, and production environments.
• AWS S3 and cloud file management.
• REST APIs and integration between services.
• Analysis and resolution of production errors.
• GitLab, version control, and code review.
• Jira and technical ticket management.
• Technical documentation and knowledge transfer.
• Technical leadership, task assignment, and developer mentorship.
• Intermediate English (Conversational) required.

Responsibilities:

• Technically lead a Python development team in charge of processes related to data extraction and transformation.
• Distribute and follow up on team tasks.
• Review functional requirements and convert them into technical solutions.
• Analyze tickets coming from Product, QA, and other teams.
• Design, develop, and maintain templates used to extract information from documents.
• Supervise the correct execution of activities, jobs, and ETL processes.
• Investigate and resolve errors found in QA and production.
• Validate that results generated by artificial intelligence models comply with schemas and business rules.
• Create or adjust prompts, schemas, signatures, and template configurations.
• Execute tests with real documents before publishing changes.
• Coordinate deployments and validations between local, QA, and production environments.
• Review processing results and prepare execution reports.
• Coordinate with other teams when there are issues with data, infrastructure, access, or integrations.
• Review code and ensure that solutions respect the current structure and standards of the project.
• Identify opportunities to reduce costs, execution times, and token consumption.
• Document processes, technical decisions, known errors, and implemented solutions.
• Interview, train, and provide technical support to new team members.

Daily tasks:

• Review team tickets and priorities.
• Perform daily follow-up on assigned tasks.
• Resolve technical doubts and developer blockers.
• Analyze documents and determine how information should be extracted.
• Create or modify templates, prompts, and schemas.
• Execute documents via Content Parser.
• Validate generated JSON files.
• Verify that data reaches the ETL and consuming systems correctly.
• Investigate activities or jobs presenting errors or inconsistent states.
• Consult records, databases, and logs to identify the cause of problems.
• Develop and implement corrections in Python, Django, or related components.
• Test changes locally and in QA before requesting or performing their publication.
• Review merge requests and changes made by other team members.
• Participate in follow-up meetings, stand-ups, and coordination with Product.
• Follow up on incidents found in production.
• Keep Jira tickets updated and record the work performed.
