Other trades certificate or diploma. Wildlife, fish and wildlands science and management. Marine maintenance/fitter and ship repair technology/technician. Commercial fishing. Marine transportation, other. or equivalent experience.

Tasks:
- Determine areas for fishing and plot courses.
- Plan fishing season according to budget .
- Plot courses and compute navigational positions.
- Steer vessels and operate navigational instruments and electronic fishing aids.
- Operate communications equipment.
- Operate fishing vessels and fishing gears.
- Transport fish to processing plants or fish buyers.
- Maintain engine, fishing gear and other on-board equipment.
- Record fishing progress, crew activities, weather and sea conditions on ship's log.

- Fishing Master's Certificate.

- Radio Operator Licence.
- Marine Emergency Duties Certificate.
