Role Overview

As a Junior Legal Counsel, you will play a pivotal role in accelerating our business growth by taking direct ownership of the day-to-day contract management pipeline. Operating within a Capital Markets Services (CMS) licensed environment, our front-office teams move fast, and this role is designed to ensure our legal workflows keep pace with market opportunities.

Reporting directly to the Head of Compliance & Legal, you will serve as the primary legal resource for foundational agreements. Your main focus will be to rapidly review, draft, and turn around Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), and specific contractual paragraphs or clauses. This is an exceptional opportunity for a driven and meticulous legal professional to optimize legal workflows, sharpen their commercial drafting skills, and safeguard the entity's regulatory boundaries in a high-velocity financial environment.

Responsibilities

  • Contract Management: Review, draft, negotiate, and finalize a high volume of core legal documents, with a primary focus on NDAs, MOUs, and standard commercial agreements.
  • Clause-Level Review: Execute precise reviews of specific paragraphs, provisions, and terms within complex agreements to mitigate legal risks and propose alternative drafting.
  • Regulatory Support: Assist in monitoring changes in financial regulations and updating internal policies.
  • Workflow Optimization: Efficiently manage the contract lifecycle to ensure agreements are processed with high accuracy and speed, aligned with the timelines required by business units.
  • Legal Support: Assist the Head of Legal & Compliance with corporate secretarial matters, regulatory research, and the maintenance of internal legal templates.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or equivalent law degree from a recognized university.
  • 1to 3 years of relevant post-qualification legal experience. Candidates from either in-house corporate legal departments or corporate/commercial practice groups in law firms are welcome to apply.
  • Basic understanding of banking operations, financial markets, or corporate commercial law.
  • Strong analytical, drafting, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to drive long-term business initiatives and manage multiple stakeholders, particularly in South Korea
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Prior exposure to a Financial Institution, Asset Management firm, or CMS licensed entity is highly advantageous.
