ASSISTANT OPERATIONS DIRECTOR

At PIMEC, we are selecting for a company dedicated to the design, development, and manufacture of automatic machinery and equipment for clinical analysis laboratories located in Esplugues de Llobregat, an ASSISTANT OPERATIONS DIRECTOR.

What will your responsibilities be? Your MISSION will be to supervise the company's operations area, including purchasing, planning, maintenance, and logistics. Optimize operational processes to support the strategic growth of the company and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of operations. Reporting to the Operations Director, you will be RESPONSIBLE for:

• Ensuring that customer demand is met at all times, implementing the necessary stock management and/or manufacturing capacity policies in each case for each type of product.
• Managing material and human resources for the development of functions, with exhaustive control of their corresponding costs.
• Defining, managing, and supervising the objectives of the different areas with their respective KPI’s for analysis and monitoring.
• Planning and supervising production demand (forecast and internal demands).
• Supervising the development of the global purchasing strategy, including contracts with different suppliers.
• Identifying, analyzing, and resolving quality problems through continuous improvement actions.
• Supervising the control/verification/location process of the reception of materials and parts.
• Defining the annual production plan, based on the Budget and resources.
• Assigning manufacturing orders.
• Monitoring the production process and proposing continuous improvement actions with the aim of optimizing it to the maximum while being safe for workers.
• Being responsible for the economic control of production; monitoring and studying production costs and their possible deviations.
• Reducing Lead Time (LT) for machinery delivery.
• Supervising and managing the reception and confirmation of customer orders (ensuring equipment configuration and delivery and installation dates).
• Defining shipping conditions (incoterms).
• Optimizing the transport service (comparison, route optimization, etc.).

What skills and knowledge are necessary for the position?

• Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in an industrial environment with a machinery production plant and team management.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing is valued.
• High level of English.
• Leadership, team management, and negotiation skills.
