Mechanical Installer – Solar PV Plants
Job description
Role: Install mounting structures and photovoltaic modules on solar plant construction sites, to design and quality standards.
Main duties
Receive and inspect materials (structure parts, fixings, modules) and report defects Unload, store and distribute materials on site Assemble and install mounting structures (posts, beams, purlins, trackers) within design tolerances Install PV modules and fix them with clamps and bolts at the specified torque Install cable-fixing elements (clips, trays, routing parts) Take measurements and adjust installed elements Complete daily work, torque and quality-control records Use hand and power tools safely and report any faults
Health and safety
Follow site safety plans and safety coordinator instructions Use the PPE provided (helmet, safety shoes, gloves, glasses, hi-vis vest, fall protection) Report hazards, incidents and near misses immediately
Requirements
Requirements
Vocational education or [1]+ year of experience in construction or mechanical installation Experience in solar plant construction is an advantage Ability to read drawings and installation diagrams Ability to work with hand and power tools, torque wrenches and measuring instruments Fit for outdoor, physical work and work at height Valid occupational safety training (work-at-height training, if applicable) Teamwork, responsibility and accuracy [Optional: English/Italian working language; category B driving licence]
