A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Lambeth is looking for an experienced and qualified SENCO to join their team on a full-time, ongoing basis. The school is seeking a confident and knowledgeable SENCO who can take responsibility for coordinating SEND provision across the school, supporting pupils, staff and families to ensure that all children receive the support they need to thrive. The Role As SENCO, you will play a key role in leading and developing inclusive practice across the school. Working closely with the Headteacher and Deputy Head/Inclusion Lead, you will oversee the day-to-day coordination of SEND provision, ensuring that pupils with additional needs are identified, supported and able to make good progress. Your responsibilities will include: • Coordinating SEND provision and supporting the implementation of the school's SEND policy. • Managing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), including applications, reviews and associated documentation. • Working closely with parents and carers to ensure they are fully involved in planning and reviewing their child's support. • Liaising with external professionals, including Educational Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapists and other specialist services. • Maintaining accurate SEND records, monitoring pupil progress and identifying areas for additional support. • Providing advice, guidance and practical support to teachers and support staff. • Working alongside class teachers to develop and review individual learning plans and targeted interventions. • Supporting staff development through training and sharing effective inclusive teaching strategies. The school is looking for a qualified SENCO with experience working in a primary school setting, strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, families and external agencies.
