About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Concrete Specialist to support a major mining construction project at a Mine in Northern Ontario.

The successful candidate will provide technical expertise and field support for concrete construction activities within an active mine environment. This position will focus on ensuring concrete works are executed safely, efficiently and in accordance with engineering specifications, quality standards and project schedules.

The project involves concrete and associated civil works, including foundations, slabs, walls, equipment foundations, structural concrete and detailed earthworks.

This is a site-based position operating on a 3 weeks on / 3 weeks off rotation, with camp accommodations and Travel provided.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise and field oversight for concrete construction activities throughout the project.
• Review construction drawings, specifications, engineering documents and concrete placement plans.
• Coordinate and monitor concrete pours, including preparation, placement, consolidation, finishing and curing.
• Oversee reinforcing steel, formwork, embedded items, anchor bolts and other components associated with concrete construction.
• Ensure concrete works comply with applicable codes, engineering specifications, quality requirements and project standards.
• Monitor concrete testing, inspection activities and quality control documentation.
• Identify and resolve technical issues related to concrete placement, materials, constructability and field execution.
• Work closely with Construction Managers, Site Superintendents, engineers, contractors and field crews to coordinate construction activities.
• Support construction sequencing, manpower planning, equipment requirements and material availability.
• Monitor productivity, quality and schedule performance, identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Assist with the development and implementation of inspection and test plans, construction procedures and quality assurance processes.
• Identify deficiencies and coordinate corrective actions to ensure construction meets project requirements.
• Participate in safety meetings, field inspections and construction planning activities.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with site health, safety and environmental requirements.

Requirements

• Minimum 5?10 years of experience in concrete construction, preferably within mining, heavy industrial or major civil construction environments.
• Strong technical knowledge of structural concrete, foundations, reinforcing steel, formwork and concrete placement methods.
• Experience supporting large-scale industrial concrete pours and complex foundation construction.
• Previous experience working on active mine sites or major industrial construction projects is considered an asset.
• Familiarity with concrete testing, quality assurance, inspection procedures and applicable construction standards.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, construction specifications and technical documentation.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, field coordination and quality control.
