Glasgow Area Pertemps are delighted to be working with a client who is a leader in their field and has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Purchase Ledger professional looking to develop their career.

Salary: Up to £34k depending on experience | 35-hour working week | Flexible working | Free parking

Based outside Glasgow, this is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership of the Purchase Ledger function, building strong supplier relationships and supporting a wider finance team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the day-to-day Purchase Ledger function
  • Supervising and supporting Purchase Ledger Assistants
  • Processing and reconciling supplier invoices and statements
  • Preparing and managing payment runs
  • Dealing with supplier queries, disputes and outstanding credit notes
  • Monitoring the Purchase Ledger inbox and allocating workload
  • Completing month-end reconciliations and aged creditor reports
  • Producing VAT, supplier spend and other financial reports
  • Working closely with internal departments and external suppliers
  • Supporting the Finance Manager with cash flow and payment forecasting
  • Identifying training and development opportunities within the team

About you:

  • Previous experience within Purchase Ledger/Accounts Payable
  • Strong understanding of AP processes
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Confident managing queries and building relationships with stakeholders
  • Experience supervising or supporting a team would be highly desirable
  • Good Excel and finance systems knowledge
  • AAT or equivalent would be advantageous, but not essential
