Brief Summary

Build and scale a digital twin & simulation platform that enables high-fidelity virtual environments and data-driven operational decision-making. Lead hands-on engineering across architecture, integration, deployment, and continuous improvement for enterprise-grade simulation applications.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable digital twin and simulation applications using NVIDIA Omniverse / Kit-based technologies and OpenUSD.
  • Build reusable extensions, tools, services, and APIs to support multiple digital twin workflows and use cases.
  • Translate engineering and operational requirements into production-ready software designs, standards, and technical documentation.
  • Develop and operate OpenUSD asset pipelines (composition, layers, variants), ensuring performance and interoperability with upstream design tools.
  • Implement data ingestion/synchronization pipelines that connect the digital twin to operational systems (e.g., IIoT platforms, MES, databases, enterprise services, external APIs).
  • Support simulation solution development for virtual commissioning, scenario analysis, process validation, and optimization initiatives.
  • Define and apply modelling assumptions, validation approaches, and benchmarking methods to improve simulation credibility and outcomes.
  • Partner with infrastructure and security stakeholders to plan deployments, access controls, and runtime best practices for on-prem and hybrid environments.
  • Implement containerized deployment patterns and contribute to platform scalability (including Kubernetes-based environments where applicable).
  • Improve reliability and performance through monitoring, profiling, tuning, and operational runbooks.
  • Participate in technical design reviews, contribute to architecture decisions, and provide guidance through code reviews and collaborative problem-solving.
  • Stay current on evolving tools and methods related to simulation, digital twins, OpenUSD, and applied AI for industrial-scale software systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mechanical/Industrial Engineering, Robotics, or a closely related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience building production-quality software in areas such as simulation platforms, digital twins, robotics, or industrial-scale systems (research and/or industry experience considered where relevant).
  • Strong Python programming capability with evidence of maintainable, well-structured code.
  • Experience designing and integrating applications, tools, APIs, and services within complex software ecosystems.
  • Hands-on experience with NVIDIA Omniverse, OpenUSD, or comparable 3D/simulation platforms.
  • Proven ability to integrate software with data stores, enterprise applications, web services, and/or operational platforms.
  • Experience working with OpenUSD asset workflows (composition, variants, asset management) at meaningful scale.
  • Experience deploying and operating containerized applications; Kubernetes exposure is preferred.
  • Familiarity with GPU-enabled infrastructure used for simulation, visualization, or AI workloads.
  • Exposure to cloud-native and/or hybrid deployment architectures.
  • Experience with robotics and/or industrial automation environments (e.g., ROS/ROS2 is a plus).
  • Ability to apply AI/ML techniques in simulation or industrial workflows (e.g., synthetic data generation, surrogate or reduced-order models, reinforcement learning) is a plus.
  • Experience with simulation tools (e.g., Plant Simulation, AnyLogic, FlexSim, Simio, or similar) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of physics-based modelling and simulation methods is a plus.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary engineering teams.
