Key Responsibilities

Production & Material Planning

  • Manage and maintain SAP work order release schedules to ensure materials are available on time for Manufacturing and Engineering.
  • Reschedule and complete discrete jobs and no-charge work orders as required.
  • Perform pre-shortage analysis to improve component availability at the time of work order release.
  • Conduct work order variance analysis and identify potential material or production issues.
  • Review MRP execution and ensure the accuracy and integrity of planning information.
  • Reconcile supply and demand and validate master scheduling and Production Data Structure (PDS) requirements.
  • Monitor material availability and provide timely updates on shortages, constraints, and recovery plans.
  • Attend production meetings and provide updates on material shortage commit dates.
  • Work closely with work centers and shop floor teams to support production control activities.

Engineering Change & Project Support

  • Review and ensure appropriate disposition of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
  • Prepare and maintain status reports for ECOs and Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) in progress.
  • Work closely with Engineering teams to manage materials required for special engineering projects.
  • Coordinate material requirements and planning activities to support engineering and manufacturing projects.

Inventory Control

  • Analyse material usage, demand patterns, and stock levels to ensure inventory meets planned service levels.
  • Maintain inventory levels in accordance with established plans and proactively expedite material shortages.
  • Forecast spare parts requirements where required.
  • Analyse material variances, resolve issues where possible, and escalate complex matters to management.
  • Support the implementation of new inventory control systems or enhancements to existing systems.
  • Assign and coordinate appropriate expediting activities to ensure timely material availability.
  • Monitor and manage obsolete or excess inventory where required.

Process Control & Continuous Improvement

  • Participate in identifying root causes and corrective actions arising from PCI reporting and process metrics.
  • Drive and support cycle counting activities to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Identify opportunities to improve planning, inventory, and material control processes.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to resolve recurring material and process issues.

Data Analysis & Forecasting

  • Analyse structured and unstructured data from multiple sources to support planning and business decisions.
  • Perform ad-hoc statistical analysis, data mining, forecasting, and trend analysis.
  • Develop dashboards and data visualisations using Tableau.
  • Work closely with business users to understand requirements and translate data into actionable insights.
  • Apply knowledge of Python, SQL, or equivalent data analytics tools to extract, analyse, and interpret data.
  • Participate or lead project teams as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for data analysis, planning, and process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Engineering, Business, Data Analytics, or a related discipline.
  • Relevant experience in production planning, material planning, inventory control, MRP, or supply chain operations.
  • Experience with SAP MRP / production planning / work order management will be advantageous.
  • Good understanding of MRP, supply and demand planning, inventory control, and production processes.
  • Ability to analyse material shortages, inventory variances, and work order requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work with large datasets.
  • Experience with Tableau, Python, SQL, or equivalent data analytics tools is preferred.
  • Good understanding of forecasting, statistical analysis, and data visualisation.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively with Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, and Supply Chain teams.
  • Detail-oriented and organised, with strong follow-up skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
