As a Commonality Analyst, you will play a key role in a global initiative where your analyses and recommendations directly impact cost reduction and standardization. About the position Perido is looking for a Commonality Analyst/Cost Reduction Consultant for our client, which is a leading global player in the automotive industry. The position is located in Arvika, with the possibility of remote work two days a week. In this role, you will become a key person in a global Commonality initiative. Your focus will be on identifying opportunities for cost reduction, simplified product structure, and increased standardization by consolidating parts. You are responsible for the entire analysis phase as well as the handover of quality-assured and data-driven recommendations to Engineering for further technical validation. The role does not include subsequent implementation; instead, your focus lies on transforming complex data into clear decision-making support. Your main tasks include: Analyzing existing BOMs, part lists, and relevant master data to identify overlaps, duplicates, and potential for increased commonality Evaluating technical equivalence based on drawings, specifications, and other technical documentation Calculating and assessing potential cost savings as well as other business benefits Structuring and quality-assuring analysis data with high traceability Developing and presenting concrete, decision-oriented support and recommendations for Engineering and other global stakeholders Collaborating with cross-functional and international teams across several product platforms and business areas Ensuring a structured and efficient handover to receiving functions
Requirements

Qualifications: Experience in mechanical design as well as documented experience in structured analytical work Good understanding of technical drawings, specifications, and practical experience with CAD work Ability to independently drive tasks from analysis to recommendation Very good knowledge of English, both spoken and written, as well as good communicative and presentation skills
Meritorious Experience with PLM systems (e.g., Windchill) as well as working with BOM structures, part master data, or product data management Experience in commonality, standardization, modularization, or cost reduction Understanding of procurement-related issues and basic economic relationships/cost drivers Interest in or experience with programming, data analysis, and automated processing of large datasets Experience from global development or change projects
