Graphic Designer (Manufacturing,Typography, Central)
Career Summary
Responsible for representing the company’s management in overseeing the visual quality of tire sidewall and tread pattern designs across all R&D offices, establishing standards for typography and design structure, and ensuring that design outcomes meet international standards
Responsibilities:
- Development and Oversight of Visual Standards
- Establish and maintain typography and visual design standards for tire sidewalls and tread patterns to ensure compliance with international specifications.
- Conduct visual quality reviews of design deliverables from all R&D offices on behalf of management to ensure strict adherence to design guidelines.
- Assist the pattern design team in making necessary design adjustments and optimizations to enhance overall visual appeal.
- Typography and Design Execution
- Responsible for formatting text and images to present design content in a professional and compelling manner.
- Collaborate with international graphic design and typography firms to advance the development, optimization, and application of the company’s proprietary typefaces on tire sidewalls.
- Assist in addressing visual design issues that arise during the R&D process and provide professional graphic design support.
- Knowledge Transfer & Team Development
- Ability to pass on graphic design knowledge and methodology to team members through training, coaching, or daily collaboration, helping the team build graphic design fundamentals and elevate overall design capability.
- Cross-Function Collaboration
- Work closely with the pattern design teams in R&D to provide design specifications and technical support.
- Maintain communication with the mould companies to develop new tire types of sidewall and pattern details.
- Maintain communication with external design and typography firms to ensure projects are delivered on time.
- Collaborating with international graphic design and typography firms to advance overall design quality.
Requirements:
- At least a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred) in Graphic Design, Visual Communication or related field
- Minimum 3 – 5 years of full-time design experience in publishing industry (magazines), advertising (creating ads) or from a reputable design firm. Candidates with experience in typesetting and formatting materials to international standards will be highly preferred.
- Proficiency in Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.).
- Candidates with experience using Rhino and CAD will be given preference.
- Strong text and image typography skills, with the ability to structure and present content in a professional manner.
- Proficiency in both Chinese and English (fluent in speaking, listening, reading, and writing) to liaise with the internal Chinese stakeholders.
