Job Description

Role Overview

The ideal candidate will serve as the HR partner to the company's commercial and support functions (Sales, Marketing, Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain and Information Technology) turning their business plans into people plans and equipping their managers to lead, develop and retain their teams.

Key Responsibilities

Acts as the HR partner to the leadership of the commercial and support functions, attending their management meetings and holding a standing place in their planning cycle. Turns each client function's business plan into an annual people plan covering headcount, capability, succession, engagement and cost. Leads workforce planning for the portfolio, including establishment control, role design and the business case for new or changed positions. Manages end-to-end resourcing for the portfolio, from briefing and selection through to offer and onboarding, in partnership with the Talent Management team. Coaches line managers to handle performance, feedback, development and everyday employee relations themselves. Handles grievance, disciplinary and performance casework within the portfolio, ensuring resolution is consistent, lawful and timely. Drives the performance cycle for the client group, covering objective setting, mid-year and annual reviews and calibration, and identifies both talent and under-performance. Identifies successors and development needs for critical roles and agrees development plans with the Talent Management team. Interprets and applies reward policy for the portfolio, advising managers on pay, promotion and recognition decisions within the approved framework. Monitors engagement, attrition and absence in the client group, diagnoses the causes, and agrees corrective action with the function head. Provides the client functions and the Director, Human Resources & Legal with people analytics that include interpretation and recommendations, not just data. Supports change and restructuring within the portfolio, including consultation, communication and transition planning. Provides cover for the Senior Lead, HR Business Partnering (Industrial) during absence. Performs other duties as assigned by the Director, Human Resources & Legal from time to time.

Requirements

Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field. Minimum 5+ years experience in human resource management or a related discipline. CIHRM Ghana, CIPD or SHRM membership is an advantage. A Masters in Human Resource Management or Business Administration is an advantage. Sound working knowledge of the Ghana Labour Act and employment practice, with the judgement to apply it to live cases  Business partnering capability — able to earn credibility with commercial leaders and challenge constructively Commercial awareness of a sales and distribution environment, including field and route-to-market structures Strong employee relations and case handling skills, including investigation, documentation and hearing practice Good written and oral communication, able to advise and influence senior managers Computer literate — MS Word, Spreadsheet, HRMS and reporting tools Ability to drive with a valid driver’s license
