Industrial Buyer (M/F)

PB Solutions is looking for an Industrial Buyer (M/F) for its Defense Industry client located in Bourges, Cher (18), as part of a permanent contract (CDI).

Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, you will take charge of your purchasing scope and intervene in the entire process, from needs analysis to supplier performance monitoring. You will work in close collaboration with the technical, quality, production, Supply Chain, R&D, and sales teams.

Your main missions:

• Analyze and qualify the needs of various internal clients and participate in the definition of technical and functional specifications.
• Conduct market monitoring and identify new suppliers and solutions.
• Define consultation strategies and launch tenders / RFQ.
• Analyze and compare supplier offers according to cost, quality, lead time, and contractual conditions.
• Prepare and conduct supplier negotiations: price, quality, lead times, volumes, and contractual conditions.
• Participate in the drafting and monitoring of purchasing contracts.
• Manage supplier relationships and handle any disputes or contractual discrepancies.
• Identify supplier risks and implement necessary security plans.
• Monitor budgets, purchasing indicators, and ensure reporting of your activity.
• Regularly evaluate supplier performance and contribute to their improvement.

Profile description:

With a minimum of a Bac+2 degree in purchasing or equivalent, you have at least 5 years of experience as a Buyer in an industrial environment.

Excellent command of English is indispensable to evolve within the context of the position.

You master the fundamentals of industrial purchasing: sourcing, market analysis, consultations and tenders, comparative analysis of offers, negotiation, contracting, and supplier performance management.

You are comfortable with purchasing analysis tools and ideally know portfolio segmentation and spend analysis approaches such as Pareto or Kraljic.

Beyond your technical skills, we are looking for an autonomous, organized, and results-oriented person, possessing good interpersonal skills and capable of building a relationship that is both demanding and collaborative with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

As the position may require access to information subject to national defense secrecy, the selected candidate will undergo a security clearance procedure.
