About Pasqal Pasqal designs and develops quantum processors (QPUs: Quantum Processing Units) and associated software tools. Job Description Within the Hardware division, you will join the Engineering Center department and integrate into the Optics & Laser Systems team. This team operates on two major axes to develop Pasqal's next generations of quantum processors: the design, alignment, and testing of new optical benches; the definition, characterization, and validation of new laser systems. In this highly operational role, you will work in close collaboration with our senior laser engineer and contribute directly to the development, integration, and maintenance of our optical and laser systems.
Your missions: Align, characterize, and implement various laser systems, from commercial equipment to prototypes developed in R&D.
Install the equipment necessary for the characterization of lasers and optical benches: optical fibers, cooling systems, monitoring devices, measurement instruments, etc.
Write, update, and apply associated technical documentation: alignment procedures, test plans, test reports, and maintenance instructions.
Participate in the selection and purchase of equipment intended for laser and optical laboratories.
Integrate lasers onto our quantum processors ( QPU ) and ensure the diagnosis as well as the resolution of technical problems.
Assemble, align, troubleshoot, and maintain existing optical benches and laser systems.
Contribute to the evaluation of new components and the validation of new equipment, methods, and processes.
Provide technical support to the Production and Installation & Maintenance teams.
Actively participate in the team's rituals and collective activities.
About you You have at least 5 years of experience in a similar role, ideally at a laser manufacturer or in an industrial environment specialized in photonics.
You have participated in the development of complex systems in a demanding industrial environment, for example in the aeronautics, medical, defense, or telecommunications sectors.
You are familiar with structured development methods, such as the V-cycle or an equivalent approach.
You enjoy practical laboratory activities and wish to intervene directly in the alignment, testing, and maintenance of laser systems and optical benches.
You are comfortable in a dynamic technological environment, where subjects evolve rapidly and present new challenges.
Technical skills: Experience in using class 4 continuous lasers, in strict compliance with laser safety rules.
Solid experience with complex optical systems and associated instrumentation.
Ability to work on multidisciplinary systems combining several fields: optics, mechanics, electronics, hydraulics, thermal management, monitoring systems, and embedded software.
Mastery of optical alignment, laser characterization, measurement, and diagnostic techniques.
Ability to write clear, precise, and actionable technical documentation.
Laser safety certification or training would be appreciated.
