Our client is a leading UK distributor, partnering with a portfolio of well known brands and supplying products to major national retailers across the FMCG sector. With an established reputation for service excellence, commercial innovation and strong customer relationships, the business has experienced significant and sustained growth in recent years. Employing over 500 people and generating annual revenues exceeding £350 million, the organisation continues to expand its market presence and invest in its people, infrastructure and future growth plans. As part of its continued success, the business is seeking an experienced and commercially focused Head of Human Resources to lead its people strategy and support the next phase of growth.

Key Duties: Lead and develop the HR function, managing and mentoring a team of 3 HR professionals to ensure the delivery of a high-quality HR service across the business. Develop and implement a people strategy that supports the companies continued growth and commercial objectives. Review, redesign and streamline HR processes, policies and procedures to improve efficiency, consistency and employee experience. Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the HR department, identifying opportunities to introduce new systems, automation and best practice processes. Partner closely with senior leadership to provide commercially focused HR advice and support. Lead workforce planning, succession planning and organisational development initiatives. Oversee all employee relations matters, including disciplinaries, grievances, performance management and absence management. Manage complex and high-risk employee relations cases through to resolution. Take the lead on Employment Tribunal claims, liaising with legal advisors, preparing documentation, coordinating witness statements and representing the business where required. Ensure full compliance with UK employment legislation and HR best practices. Lead employee engagement, wellbeing and culture initiatives across the organisation. Oversee compensation, benefits and reward programmes, ensuring they remain competitive and aligned with business objectives. Utilise HR data, reporting and analytics to provide insight and support strategic decision-making. Support organisational change, business transformation projects and future growth initiatives.
