For our client, we are looking for a candidate as a Test and Lifecycle Engineer (m/f/d) Medical Technology in Berlin, effective immediately. Your Tasks
- Independent planning, coordination, execution, and evaluation of laboratory implantation studies on intraocular lenses and implantation systems as part of lifecycle product maintenance (e.g., product changes, series support, complaint investigations)
- Execution and further development of optical measurements (e.g., physical-optical characteristics, image quality, transmission) on intraocular lenses
- Execution and further development of mechanical tests (e.g., implantation behavior, haptics properties, load and fatigue tests) on intraocular lenses and implantation systems
- Execution and documentation of surface inspections (e.g., microscopy, visual inspection, defect classification) as well as support in root cause analysis of complaints and non-conformities
- Statistical analysis and evaluation of measurement results as well as verification of compliance with specifications, release criteria, and regulatory requirements
- Creation and maintenance of technical documentation according to DIN EN ISO 13485, including test plans, test reports, and lifecycle evidence
- Regular maintenance, calibration, and functional testing of measuring and testing equipment as well as verification of suitability within the framework of quality management
- Close cooperation with Quality Management, Regulatory Affairs, Development, Production, and Complaint Handling for the continuous improvement of existing products and testing processes
Required Qualifications
- Degree in the fields of Engineering (m/f/d), Measurement Technology/Sensor Technology, Optics (m/f/d), Materials Science/Mechatronics (m/f/d), Automation Technology/Electrical Engineering (m/f/d), Medical Technology (m/f/d), or comparable
- Several years of professional experience in the field of testing, verification/validation, or product maintenance, ideally in the environment of medical devices
- Sound knowledge of mechanical and optical measurement systems as well as experience in the mechanical and optical characterization of products, preferably implants or intraocular lenses
- Experience in conducting laboratory studies and series testing in a regulated environment, ideally according to ISO 13485 and MDR
- Confident handling of statistical experimental design and data analysis software (e.g., Origin, Minitab) as well as very good knowledge of Excel
- Desirable: Experience in test bench design or in programming (e.g., Python, LabVIEW)
- Strong analytical, conceptual, and organizational skills as well as high diligence and perseverance in performing series tests
- High degree of initiative, responsibility, and quality awareness as well as a systematic and goal-oriented way of working
- Fluent English skills in speaking and writing and enjoyment of working in interdisciplinary, international teams
