Insurance and New Business Manager

Job Objective

Direct the comprehensive management of insurance and new business for the hospital, ensuring the efficient administration of contracts with national and international insurance companies, the correct application of coverages and benefits, account profitability, compliance with quality standards, and the optimization of area processes, providing timely service to patients, insurance companies, and internal clients.

Main Functions

• Administer and supervise the insurance department and the personnel in charge.
• Manage contracts with national and international insurance companies, including negotiations and renewals.
• Coordinate the validation of coverages and benefits for insured patients.
• Analyze indicators, loss ratios, profitability, and technical results for decision-making.
• Follow up on accounts receivable, delinquency, and billing processes related to insurance.
• Prepare management reports and performance reports.
• Coordinate with the Finance, Marketing, General Management, and Operations areas for the development of new businesses.
• Resolve complex situations with patients, brokers, and insurance companies.
• Guarantee compliance with policies, quality standards, and patient safety.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization.

Requirements

Academic Background

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Postgraduate degree or Master's in Business Administration, Hospital Administration, or Senior Management.

Experience

• Minimum 3 years in the hospital sector.
• Minimum 3 years in insurance companies or insurance brokers.
• Experience leading work teams.

Knowledge

• National and international insurance.
• Medical coverages and benefits.
• Medical terminology and CPT and ICD-9/ICD-10 coding.
• Hospital billing.
• Financial analysis, statistics, and budgets.
• Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Advanced English.
