Your tasks
As a legal counsel Oxford, you will handle day-to-day legal work for a professional services organisation and help keep legal matters clear and well managed. You will work within the Legal department, providing practical legal input that supports the business.
Description
- Provide day-to-day legal advice to help colleagues make informed business decisions.
- Review, draft and negotiate legal documents to support business activities.
- Manage legal queries from internal stakeholders and provide clear, practical guidance.
- Maintain organised legal records and documentation for easy access and reference.
- Identify legal issues within business activities and advise on appropriate next steps.
- Work with external legal advisers where required to progress specific matters.
- Support the Legal department with ongoing legal projects and priorities.
Requirements
A successful Legal Counsel should have
- Experience providing practical legal advice in a commercial setting.
- Ability to draft, review and negotiate a range of legal documents.
- Confidence managing legal queries and prioritising a varied workload.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills when explaining legal matters.
- Strong attention to detail when reviewing legal documentation.
- Ability to work independently while building effective relationships with colleagues.
