About the position: The primary purpose of this position is planning, assisting, and executing Club special events. This position is located at the Misawa Collocated Club of the 35th Force Support Squadron, Misawa AB, Japan. This is a Flexible category position; guaranteed 0 hours per week but may work up to 40 hours per week depending on the needs of the facility. Military Spouse Preference is not lost if selected for this position.

Major duties

Examples of types of duties include but are not limited to the following: Club entertainment and program activities: Budgeting and planning Coordinating with other base activities and contractors for successful event outcome Introducing entertainers and emceeing club events Planning the location, set up, and layout of club events Monitoring attendance Notifying participants of schedule changes Preparing marketing work orders and placing advertising Answering inquiries about the scheduled events such as place and ticket price, or other matters related to the activities scheduled Public speaking Decorating for club activities Instructing customers and entertainers on the proper handling of facilities and use of equipment Prepares after action reports to evaluate club programs based on attendance and budget objectives, then recommends future programs based on this report. Maintains Social Media Accounts for the Misawa Collocated Club. Occasionally performs cashier services, performing sales activities, cash counts, bank reconciliations. Must be able to work with minimal supervision. Performs other related duties assigned. Occasional travel may be required and may operate Government vehicles. Must be able to work an uncommon duty schedule to include nights, weekends and some holidays as necessary. "This is a drug testing designated position. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have experience which demonstrates the ability to plan and organize social functions for large groups of people. Must be able to speak, read and write English. Must be able to speak comfortably in front of large groups and encourage audience participation. The ability to safeguard and handle cash is required. Practical knowledge and experience in club membership recreational activities and events, rules, and procedures relating Air Force Club's is desirable. Skill in the use and maintenance of various club and entertainment equipment and facilities is highly desirable however, no experience is required. A basic knowledge of social media and marketing/advertising principles, practices and strategies are highly desirable.
