Project Worker

for a part-time (40%) position in the development team of the University of Oulu Faculty of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering for the period 27.10.2026-31.12.2027.

Are you the enthusiastic and proactive project worker we are looking for, who will help us turn data, engagement, and partnerships into real opportunities and impactful results for students and companies?

As a project worker, you will participate in the faculty's IKAPO-project, which aims to optimize ICT expert resources and strengthen the innovation capacity of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The project's new partnership program and model for promoting recruitment, work-life contacts, and alumni activities will strengthen interaction and channel students' expertise to create value and opportunities for both students and micro and SME enterprises. This European Union co-funded project supports international students' career paths, professional development, and smoother employment in Northern Ostrobothnia.

We are looking for…

A Project Worker for our faculty's development team. In this role, you will:

Develop websites, platforms supporting corporate cooperation, AI-based analytical solutions, and digital tools that promote the goals of the IKAPO project, including the ITEE SPOT collaboration platform.

Participate in identifying company needs and promote student projects (e.g., in the ArkiDigi program www.ikapo.fi/arkidigi-brochure), internships, theses, and other forms of cooperation between the university and companies under the IKAPO project.

Compile and produce company-specific analyses and insights that support the identification of cooperation opportunities and skill needs, responding to companies' recruitment needs, and evaluating the project's impact.

Support interaction between students and companies by implementing events and program entities that promote student engagement, employment, and university–company cooperation.

Produce and share impactful and engaging content (e.g., event info, presentations, web publications, social media posts).

Work closely with student communities, staff, and partners outside the project/faculty.

We expect from you

Currently ongoing, well-advanced studies in a degree program at the University of Oulu Faculty of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering (ITEE).

Strong analytical, development, and IT skills, as well as the ability to utilize AI tools in compiling, processing, and analyzing large datasets; expertise in the effective use of AI agents; the ability to maintain and develop Wix/SharePoint sites and other browser-based tools (iteespot.ikapo.fi & course-matcher-pro.ikapo.fi).

A positive, proactive work attitude, self-direction, and good problem-solving skills; strong teamwork skills in an international work environment.

Fluent communication and confident presentation in English; the ability to produce clear, high-quality content in English and, if necessary, make rough translations into Finnish.

Previous experience in the planning and implementation of programs and/or events. Strong organizational skills and a systematic, goal-oriented approach to work, and the ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to achieve successful implementations.

Experience with survey tools (e.g., Webropol, Microsoft Forms) as well as results visualization and reporting (graphs, infographics, presentations).

Strong PowerPoint skills and mastery of image editing/publishing software (e.g., Canva, Photoshop, InDesign).

An understanding of student well-being and a desire to promote students' smooth transition to working life; knowledge of student communities and communication channels to ensure engagement and impact.

Salary

The position is part-time (40%) and fixed-term for the period 27.10.2026-31.12.2027.

The position is placed at the university's remuneration system level 3 for other expert and support staff. In addition, a performance-based salary component is paid, which is at most 50% of the task-specific salary component. The salary in similar part-time positions is typically 1000 - 1100€/month. A 6-month probationary period applies to the position.
