Ottawa Dental Laboratory is looking for a *reliable, professional and responsible Delivery Driver* to join our team on a *permanent, full-time basis*.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys driving, is organized, punctual, and takes pride in providing professional service to dental clinics throughout Ottawa.
The $30/hour compensation includes an allowance for the use of the employee's personal vehicle and normal fuel costs associated with the position.
The driver will use their *own reliable vehicle* to make scheduled deliveries and pickups of lightweight dental laboratory boxes and cases to and from dental clinics throughout the Ottawa area.
*Fuel Cost Adjustment*
Because fuel prices can fluctuate significantly, Ottawa Dental Laboratory will provide an *additional fuel-cost adjustment when gasoline prices increase substantially above the applicable baseline*, based on the employee's work-related driving.
The fuel adjustment is intended to compensate for documented increases in fuel costs associated with performing the required deliveries and is separate from the employee's regular hourly compensation.
*Responsibilities*
- Deliver and collect lightweight dental laboratory cases and boxes from dental clinics
- Follow assigned delivery routes and schedules
- Handle dental cases and packages carefully and professionally
- Ensure all deliveries and pickups are completed accurately and on time
- Communicate professionally with dentists, dental office staff and laboratory personnel
- Maintain accurate delivery/pickup records
- Report any delivery issues, delays or damaged packages promptly
- Maintain the cleanliness and professional appearance of the vehicle while working
- Follow all traffic laws and safe-driving practices
- Represent Ottawa Dental Laboratory in a professional and courteous manner
*Requirements*
- Valid Ontario driver's licence
- *Satisfactory driving record / driver's abstract*
- Reliable personal vehicle in good working condition
- Appropriate automobile insurance for the use of the vehicle for work purposes
- Safe, responsible and defensive driving habits
- Excellent punctuality and reliability
- Good communication and customer-service skills
- Professional appearance and courteous attitude
- Ability to work independently and follow a daily schedule
- Ability to safely handle and transport lightweight boxes and dental cases
- *Satisfactory criminal record check*
- Must have a *clean, smoke-free vehicle during working hours*
- Must not smoke while performing work duties or transporting laboratory cases
