Research Group Leader for Everyday Life under Different Life Conditions
About the position At Institutt for sosialfag, there is a vacancy for a four-year fixed-term position as research group leader for the research group "Hverdagsliv under ulike livsbetingelser". Own research and teaching are included in the position and constitute approximately half of the position. Institutt for sosialfag is organized into five research groups. The research group leader reports to the institute director for Institutt for sosialfag and sits in the institute's management group. The fixed-term period is four years for the period 01.02.2027-31.01.2031, with the possibility to apply for two additional four-year fixed-term periods. The research group is responsible for Institutt for sosialfag's teaching and research within the main area "Hverdagsliv under ulike livsbetingelser". The research group shall ensure attractive, relevant, and research-based teaching in its area of responsibility in the institute's bachelor's and master's programs, in the ph.d. program in sosialt arbeid og sosialpolitikk, and in continuing and further education. Furthermore, the research group shall further develop the institute's research and dissemination, and contribute to making the institute an internationally recognized research environment within its field. The research group currently has approx. 23 employees. Tasks and responsibilities The research group leader is responsible for: developing the research group's academic activity and research-based knowledge relevant to Institutt for sosialfag's educational programs ensuring necessary teaching resources for the study program portfolio at bachelor, master, and ph.d. levels, and in continuing and further education assisting the research group's employees in their research activities, with a particular focus on project development and publishing assisting the research group's employees in the development of teaching and teaching competence managing the personnel responsibility for the research group's employees profiling the research group's academic activities – locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally keeping the institute director updated on all matters of significant importance contributing to the strategic development of Institutt for sosialfag's portfolio Time is included in the position to conduct research on relevant thematic areas and to teach at the Institute. Qualification requirements Formal competence for appointment in a scientific position (doctorate or equivalent) at a university and primary experience with teaching, research, and development work is required.
