SOC Analyst - L2 - £40,000 - £45,000 I'm working with a client looking to appoint a Tier 2 SOC Analyst to support security operations, lead investigations and act as an escalation point for Tier 1 analysts.

This is an opportunity for an experienced SOC Analyst, or a strong L1 ready to step up, to take on greater responsibility for incident investigation, threat hunting and improving security processes.

This is a great opportunity for someone ready to develop their technical capabilities and take on more responsibility within a SOC environment.

Requirements

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and investigate security alerts, triaging incidents and managing escalations.
• Act as an escalation point for Tier 1 SOC Analysts.
• Conduct threat hunting to identify potential security threats.
• Lead the team during shifts, supporting analysts with investigations and decision-making.
• Improve SOC processes, procedures and incident response playbooks.
• Identify opportunities to enhance detection and response capabilities.

What they're looking for

• Previous SOC experience, ideally at L2 level, or strong L1 experience demonstrating readiness to progress.
• Good security knowledge and the ability to investigate and triage incidents independently.
• A proactive approach, with evidence of taking initiative and improving processes.
• The confidence to support colleagues and take ownership of escalated incidents.

• Shift pattern: Three days on, three days off.
