Finance Business Partner

Orka Financial is recruiting a Finance Business Partner for a six-month fixed-term contract. This is a full-time, fully remote opportunity paying £50,000–£55,000 per annum, with a bonus, 24 days' holiday plus bank holidays, healthcare, pension, phone and laptop.

The opportunity

You will work closely with operational leaders, providing clear commercial finance insight across revenue, margin, project delivery and cash generation. The position suits someone who can move confidently between detailed analysis and constructive business partnering, helping colleagues understand performance and act on the numbers.

Key responsibilities

• Explain revenue and gross-margin performance across projects and recurring service activity.
• Partner with operational managers to investigate variances and improve commercial decisions.
• Review project cost-to-complete, expected outturn, margin and cash-flow forecasts.
• Support accurate billing, revenue recognition and financial reporting in line with FRS 102.
• Prepare forecasts and contribute to budgeting and reforecasting cycles.
• Analyse working capital, including work in progress, debtors and project cash flow.
• Assess profitability by revenue stream, customer sector and contract type, highlighting risks and opportunities.
• Build useful KPI reporting and support improvements to systems, processes and business performance.

About you

You will bring strong commercial finance and business-partnering experience, ideally gained in a project, service or contract-led environment. You should be comfortable challenging stakeholders, interpreting operational data and translating complex financial information into practical recommendations. Experience of project accounting, revenue recognition, forecasting, working-capital analysis and dashboard reporting will be particularly valuable.
