Responsibilities and assignments

Responsible for the full preparation of financial statements for a closed capital joint-stock company in the energy sector, with a robust corporate structure and multiple CNPJs, covering the consolidated statements of the holding company and a wide set of individual financial statements of the group companies. Conducts the end-to-end process, from accounting documents to explanatory notes, including the English version of the holding company's statements (translation of the Portuguese version), ensuring adherence to CPC/IFRS and compliance with the audit calendar. Acts as the focal point in internal and external audit processes and as a technical accounting reference for other areas of the company.

Responsibilities and assignments:

  • Prepare, in full, the interim and annual financial statements — consolidated for the holding company and the various individual statements of the group companies;
  • Prepare the documents that compose the statements — Balanço Patrimonial, DRE, DMPL, DVA, and DFC — and the respective explanatory notes;
  • Master the consolidation process and balance sheet eliminations, analyzing their reflections on the financial statements;
  • Interpret and apply CPC/IFRS standards, ensuring the adherence of the closing and formalizing conclusions in technical memorandums;
  • Meet internal audit demands, responding to and monitoring action plans resulting from findings;
  • Address the points of the external audit control letter, defining, monitoring, and reporting action plans until effective implementation;
  • Critically analyze intercompany transactions and balances and their reflections on the statements and explanatory notes;
  • Prepare, review, and monitor accounting policies, manuals, and processes;
  • Interact with the Business, Fiscal, Controladoria, Tesouraria, and Jurídico areas in obtaining and validating information for the explanatory notes;
  • Review the translation of the explanatory notes, including accounting policies, critical judgments, and financial instrument disclosures;
  • Interact with auditors throughout the financial statement review process, responding to questions and providing requested support;
  • Participate in system projects aimed at the preparation and support of financial statements (ERP implementation and parameterization, consolidation tools, and accounting reporting solutions).

Requirements and qualifications

  • Degree in Ciências Contábeis;
  • Advanced Excel and mastery of other Microsoft Office applications;
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP B1) and with accounting consolidation tools;
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the preparation of financial statements and explanatory notes;
  • Advanced English (technical reading and writing), with the ability to review and validate the English version of financial statements and explanatory notes;
  • Desirable experience with artificial intelligence tools (e.g., Claude, Copilot, etc.) applied to accounting activities;
  • Desirable previous experience in external audit (Big Four);
  • Desirable postgraduate degree or MBA in related areas;
  • Active CRC.
