Production Manager

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Production Manager to oversee our manufacturing operations, with a strong specialization in the steel fabrication, welding, and metalworking industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring production targets are met safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards, while managing shop floor teams, welding quality compliance, and machinery maintenance. Key Responsibilities Production Planning & Execution: Develop and manage daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules to ensure timely delivery of steel and metal structures while optimizing resource allocation.

Welding & Fabrication Oversight: Ensure all welding processes, structural steel cutting, assembly, and finishing comply with engineering drawings, technical specifications, and industry standards (e.g., AWS, ASME, ISO).

Quality & Safety Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols (PPE, hot work safety, crane/lifting safety) and maintain rigorous quality control checks across all stages of fabrication to minimize defects and rework.

Team Leadership & Supervision: Lead, mentor, and supervise shift supervisors, welders, fitters, machine operators, and laborers; conduct regular performance evaluations and technical training.

Resource & Inventory Management: Monitor raw material usage (steel plates, profiles, consumables, welding wires/electrodes), minimize scrap waste, and coordinate with procurement for timely restocking.

Equipment Maintenance: Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs for heavy machinery, welding equipment, CNC plasma cutters, press brakes, and overhead cranes to minimize downtime.

Process Optimization: Implement Lean manufacturing principles, 5S methodologies, and continuous improvement strategies to boost productivity and reduce lead times.

Job Requirements Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field.

Experience: 5 to 8 years of proven experience in production management within steel fabrication, heavy metal, or structural steel manufacturing.

Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of welding processes (SMAW, GMAW/MIG, GTAW/TIG, FCAW).

Strong ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).

Knowledge of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods is a strong plus.

Excellent communication and team coordination skills.

Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Excel for production tracking and scheduling.
