Lead Java Solutions Engineer

Overview

Join our team as a Lead Java Solutions Engineer and play a key role in designing, building, and supporting robust enterprise applications for a leading banking organisation. You'll drive the development and optimisation of deployment pipelines, ensuring seamless application releases and high operational standards in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

What you’ll do

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain scalable back-end components using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build, manage, and optimise Jenkins pipelines to drive automated build, testing, and continuous integration workflows.
• Plan and execute end-to-end application deployments across User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and production environments.
• Administer environment configurations, troubleshooting, and automation tasks utilising Linux and advanced Shell scripting.
• Manage job scheduling, batch processing, and secure enterprise data flows leveraging products like Control-M, Aldon, and Connect: Direct.
• Work closely with infrastructure, QA, security, and production support teams to ensure release governance, high availability, and operational stability.

What we need

• Minimum 6+ years of professional software engineering experience focusing on application development and implementation support.
• Advanced proficiency in Java and the Spring Boot framework.
• Proven hands-on experience setting up and managing Jenkins and version-controlled CI/CD workflows.
• Strong operational competence in Linux environments coupled with robust Shell scripting capabilities.
• Practical knowledge and implementation experience with enterprise tools including Control-M, Aldon, and Connect: Direct.

Preferred Qualifications

• Domain Expertise: Prior background working within a Banking or Financial Services technology environment.
• Ecosystem Familiarity: Prior exposure to banking standard platforms, release tools, and change management frameworks (such as WCM, Aldon RDO, or UFW).
• Methodologies: Familiarity with Agile delivery frameworks, application security scanning tools (e.g., SonarQube, Veracode), and structured release governance.
