Azure Cloud Engineer (Platform Engineering)

Our client is seeking a Cloud Platform Operations Engineer with strong experience in Microsoft Azure to support the design, operation and continuous improvement of secure and reliable cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement and manage secure cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure, in line with government policies, security standards and frameworks such as IM8 and Zero Trust.
• Oversee contractors managing cloud-hosted application systems, ensuring high availability, performance, reliability and operational stability.
• Support and enhance CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices to enable efficient and reliable application deployments.
• Implement and manage monitoring, logging and observability solutions to proactively identify and address system issues.
• Manage incidents, problems and changes in accordance with ITIL processes, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis and implementation of preventive measures.
• Ensure cloud platforms and systems comply with security, governance, risk and audit requirements.
• Plan and execute change management activities, ensuring operational changes are properly assessed, documented and implemented in accordance with governance requirements.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud environments.
• Experience in cloud infrastructure, platform operations and production support.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps practices and deployment automation.
• Experience with cloud monitoring, logging and observability tools.
• Knowledge of ITIL-based incident, problem and change management.
• Understanding of cloud security, governance, compliance and audit requirements.
• Experience working in government or regulated environments will be good to have.
