About the Role
We are a tutoring centre in Singapore looking for a dedicated Science & Mathematics Teacher. You will teach Mathematics and Combined Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics) at secondary school level, as well as selected subjects at junior school level, helping students improve their exam results. Lessons are delivered bilingually in English and Chinese.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Mathematics and Combined Science to secondary school students, and selected subjects to junior school students, in both English and Chinese
- Follow each student's school syllabus, pace and requirements to deliver clear, effective lessons
- Help students master content and exam techniques to improve results in school exams and in IGCSE/IB exams
- Prepare lesson materials, practice questions and mock tests
- Review student work, identify weak areas and give targeted feedback
- Update parents on student progress when needed
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or above in a STEM field (Science, Mathematics, Engineering or a related discipline)
- Degree from a "Double First-Class" university in China (or a "Project 211" university), NUS, NTU, or an equivalent-level university in other countries
- Studied at least two of the three sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) at high school level
- Able to teach secondary school Mathematics and Combined Science, and some junior school subjects
- Fluent in both English and Chinese in order to teach bilingually
- IELTS overall score of 7.0 or above (or equivalent proof of English proficiency)
- Legal right to work in Singapore, or eligibility for the relevant work pass
- Strong communication skills and a passion for teaching
Preferred (Advantages)
- Experience teaching IGCSE and/or IB curricula
- Prior teaching or tutoring experience
