Welcome to SSC Space, formerly Swedish Space Corporation, a workplace for you who are driven by technology and fascinated by space. Here, you get to be where the action truly happens. We own and operate Esrange Space Center outside Kiruna, one of the world's most versatile facilities for rocket and stratospheric balloon missions, and we also work with one of the world's largest global networks of ground stations for satellite communication.

About us

Our customers are located all over the world and range from space organizations and research institutes to governmental and commercial actors. Together, we enable everything from advanced satellite communication and space consulting to rocket launches, flight tests, and the satellite systems of the future.

About the role

We are now looking for an IT Infrastructure Engineer who wants to be part of developing the infrastructure that forms the foundation for some of the world's most exciting space projects. With us, you will work in a technically advanced environment where the infrastructure is crucial for everything from satellite operations and rocket launches to research and development.

In this role, you will become part of SSC Space's infrastructure specialists and work with the core of our global hybrid environment. You are responsible for operating, developing, and improving our infrastructure, both in our datacenters and in our cloud-based platforms. The focus is on stability, security, scalability, and long-term development.

The work is varied and includes everything from administration of Linux and Windows environments to the operation of our private cloud platform based on VMware and Nutanix. You will also work with physical infrastructure in our datacenters and participate in the development of future platforms and architectural solutions.

You will work closely with colleagues within IT, development, and the business at large, where you contribute both technical expertise and a strategic perspective. The role also involves driving work with automation, configuration management, and Infrastructure as Code to create efficient and sustainable solutions.

You thrive in an environment where quality, security, and availability are central, and where you can combine operational work with long-term technical development. Here, you will have the opportunity to build solutions that support operations where there is no room for compromise.

Requirements

  • Technical university degree or equivalent experience
  • At least four years of experience in Linux administration in complex IT environments
  • At least two years of experience working with datacenters, infrastructure, and infrastructure services
  • Experience with Linux and Windows environments
  • Experience with virtualization platforms, preferably VMware
  • Good understanding of networking, identity management, and IT security
  • Fluent English in speech and writing
  • Swedish citizenship

Meritorious

  • Experience with Nutanix
  • Experience with scripting in, for example, Python or PowerShell
  • Experience with Terraform, Ansible, and GitHub
  • Certifications in VMware or other relevant platforms
  • Experience with legacy system environments and migration projects
  • Experience working closely with software development teams
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code and DevOps methodologies

About you

You are a curious person who is driven to learn new things and enjoys sharing your knowledge with others. You have the ability to analyze complex technical challenges and translate them into smart and sustainable solutions.

At the same time, you are meticulous with details without losing the big picture, and you enjoy collaborating with different competencies and functions. To succeed in the role, you need to be communicative, proactive, and have a genuine interest in technology and development.

With us, you get a unique opportunity to contribute to both Swedish and international space projects. You will become part of a global organization with high technical competence, a strong team spirit, and a culture characterized by curiosity, collaboration, and pride in what we achieve together.

We offer good opportunities for skill development and career development in an organization that constantly pushes the boundaries of what is possible.

Benefits

We also offer attractive benefits such as:

  • Extra paid days off in addition to vacation and public holidays, including between Christmas and New Year and during special holidays
  • Wellness allowance of 5,000 SEK per year
  • Health-related benefits such as voluntary health insurance and health checks for eligible employees
  • Opportunity for a benefit bike
  • Support for employee-driven activities that promote community, health, and culture
