Financial Controller
Location: Singapore (regional role, all APAC entities) | Reports to: CFO / Head of Finance About OneByZero & The Role OneByZero is a Frontier Systems Integrator building agentic AI systems for leading banks, telecommunications companies, insurers, and retailers across Asia Pacific. We work on high-impact problems for institutions that operate the financial and digital infrastructure of the region. We operate exclusively on AWS and leverage partnership programmes that provide co-sell reach, funded innovation opportunities, and delivery credibility across multiple markets. OBZ operates across nine countries and is scaling from roughly 150 to 300 employees as it grows from its FY27 to FY28 revenue targets.We're hiring a Finance Controller to lead accounting and finance operations across the group, manage treasury in the interim, and lead financial due diligence for fundraising, while building the team and controls needed to scale. Key Responsibilities Accounting & FinancialReporting • Lead month-end and year-end close, general ledger, and consolidation across all entities, including consolidation treatment for minority-owned entities based on the substance of control • Prepare statutory and management financial statements in line with applicable accounting standards(SFRS(I)/IFRS) • Manage inter company accounting, including MSA billing, transfer pricing consistency, and eliminations • Review deliverables from third-party accountants and bookkeepers across entities Finance Operations • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including vendor payments, invoicing accuracy, and AR accounting • Maintain payroll controls and reconciliations across entities • Run bank and balance sheet reconciliations to a fixed close calendar Audit, Tax & Compliance • Serve as the primary contact for external auditors and manage statutory and internal audit cycles • Maintain the statutory compliance calendar and corporate secretarial and entity compliance across jurisdictions • Ensure timely and accurate tax filings, GST/VAT compliance, and withholding tax treatment across entities • Lead financial due diligence responses for fundraising and investor requests Treasury (Interim) • Manage banking relationships and account structure, with visibility into the consolidated cash position • Support cash forecasting and FX exposure management across entities • Oversee deployment and safeguarding of surplus funds in line with treasury policy Internal Controls & TeamBuilding • Establish and maintain financial policies, approval matrices, and internal controls • Build and develop the accounting and finance operations team as the function scales Key Performance Indicators Performance in this role will be measured against: • Working days to close and on-time delivery of consolidated financials • Reconciliation completeness and post-close adjustments, by entity • Audit outcomes - number and severity of findings, and on-time delivery of audit requests • Statutory and tax filings submitted on time with no penalties • On-time vendor payment rate and AR reconciliation accuracy • Unreconciled inter company balances at close What You Bring • 10-15 years of experience in accounting and controllership, ideally in a professional services, IT services, or consulting business • A recognized accounting qualification (CA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) • Audit experience (Big 4 or equivalent), including technical exposure beyond managing the external audit relationship • Multi-entity consolidation and inter company accounting experience, including transfer pricing across jurisdictions • Working treasury knowledge -banking, FX, and working capital • Experience building or scaling a finance team in a fast-growing environment • Nice to have: PE/VC- backed company experience and multi-currency APAC exposure
