Do you want to join a structured industrial environment, where purchasing is not limited to supplier negotiation?

We are looking for an experienced Packaging & Conditioning Buyer, capable of combining purchasing strategy, technical packaging expertise, and industrial project management.

Reporting to the Purchasing Department, you will take charge of a portfolio dedicated to primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging as well as conditioning consumables.

Your missions

You will define and deploy the purchasing strategy for your packaging scope in close collaboration with internal teams.

In this capacity, you will notably be required to:

  • Manage the purchasing of cardboard, paper, plastic, pallets, and conditioning consumables
  • Gather the needs of internal teams and support development or evolution projects for packaging
  • Participate in the design, optimization, and industrialization of new packaging solutions
  • Support projects requiring adaptations of packaging or conditioning lines
  • Identify, select, and develop a panel of high-performing and innovative suppliers
  • Manage tenders and supplier consultations
  • Negotiate commercial and contractual terms
  • Secure supplies and anticipate supplier risks
  • Monitor panel performance and implement necessary improvement actions
  • Participate in cost reduction and eco-design projects
  • Maintain a watch on innovations, materials, and new regulations related to packaging
  • Work cross-functionally with R&D, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Marketing teams

Occasional travel to industrial sites is to be expected, generally at most once a month depending on projects.

Why join this project?

You are joining a French industrial group present internationally, offering a stimulating environment, packaging projects with a high technical dimension, and numerous interactions with industrial functions.

The position also offers:

  • Up to 2 days of teleworking per week
  • Restaurant vouchers
  • Company health insurance
  • Additional leave
  • Supplementary pension
  • Social benefits and possibilities for internal mobility

Profile sought:

You hold a Master's degree (Bac+5) in:

  • Packaging Engineering
  • Materials Engineering
  • Industrial Engineering
  • Business School with a specialization in Purchasing

Ideally, you have approximately 7 years of experience and, above all, confirmed experience in packaging purchasing, packaging development, or technical purchasing in an industrial environment.

Real technical expertise in packaging is indispensable: knowledge of materials, packaging design and development, conditioning processes, and industrial project support.

You are also comfortable with supplier negotiation and managing purchasing strategies.

Fluent professional English is necessary to operate in an international environment.

Your sensitivity to eco-design challenges as well as to regulatory developments related to packaging will be particularly appreciated.

Desired qualities

Rigor, organization, and the ability to manage several projects simultaneously will be essential to succeed in this position.

Your excellent interpersonal skills allow you to work with various stakeholders, unite teams around projects, and create a true partnership relationship with suppliers.
