About the role

As a Business Controller, you will have a business-oriented and developmental role where you combine classic business controlling with a great interest in systems, data, and problem-solving. The role is divided into approximately 75% Business Controlling and 25% Finance IT, which makes it particularly interesting for you who is an economist at heart but who likes to go one step further to understand how the systems behind the numbers actually work. Your two closest colleagues also work in shared roles combining Business Controlling and Finance IT, and you belong to the finance department which consists of a total of 12 employees.

Within Business Controlling, your main focus lies in understanding and improving the profitability of NTEX's transport business. You work closely with the operations and go down to the detail level of individual shipments to analyze revenues, costs, and margins. When something deviates, your task is not just to state it, but to understand why.

The second part of the role is linked to NTEX's financial systems, primarily NetSuite and Medius. NTEX is still in a development phase with its systems, and moving forward, both new modules and continued international rollouts await.

You do not need to have worked in NetSuite or Medius previously. What is important is that you have a genuine interest in IT and systems, can quickly familiarize yourself with new solutions, and enjoy understanding how financial processes, data, and systems are connected. When more advanced programming or specialist expertise is required, external consultants are available to help.

We are looking for you who

  • Has a bachelor's degree in economics, accounting, finance, or another relevant field.
  • Has at least 5 years of experience as a Business Controller.

To succeed in this role, you need to have an analytical mindset; you are curious and eager to contribute to continuous improvements. You have good communication skills, fluent English is crucial, and it is a bonus if you speak additional languages. You enjoy working with details but never lose sight of the big picture. You enjoy collaborating and have a positive outlook.

You have a clear interest in systems and feel at home in ERP systems, BI tools, and large datasets. If you have previously participated in a system implementation, been a super-user, or functioned as the link between Finance and IT, it is meritorious. Experience with NetSuite, Medius, or Power BI is also positive, but not a requirement. The role involves many contact surfaces, which means you need to be comfortable seeking out the right people yourself, asking questions, challenging when necessary, and standing behind your conclusions.

If you have previously worked within transport or logistics, it is a plus, as is experience from a larger or international organization. The most important thing, however, is the combination of business understanding, analysis, and a genuine interest in systems.
