Project Chief Engineer (m/f/d) (Projektingenieur/in)

Your Tasks

• Technical leadership of a team of system engineers with assigned responsibilities within the project
• Functioning as an interface to project management and the customer for all technical and organizational questions
• Definition of system requirements in coordination with project management
• Establishment of a System Engineering process and the System Engineering Plan for the organization and workflows between the employees of the technical departments in the company and the project management
• Definition of the fundamental technical concepts to fulfill the system requirements in cooperation with the groups of system engineers and specialist engineers
• Creation of forecasts for cost, schedule fulfillment, and performance fulfillment
• Organizing regular checkpoints for contributions to technical, as well as time and cost budgets
• Evaluation of ongoing development
• Review and control of the ongoing design
• Performing the function as the technical person responsible for the system in the event of contract changes, as well as initiating the implementation of agreed changes for the technical design
• Ensuring technical information exchange and networking within the project team, with internal specialist departments, and external partners

Your Qualifications

• University degree (e.g., Doctorate, Diplom, Master) in engineering sciences or comparable qualification
• In-depth and sound experience in the technical conception and design of satellite ground stations
• Relevant experience in the realization of a project in a military environment
• Proven skills in technical and, ideally, also disciplinary team leadership
• Strong skills in motivation, delegation, knowledge transfer, and network building
• Flexibility regarding technical problems
• High willingness to cooperate
• Very good communication skills, negotiation skills, decision-making ability, and conflict resolution skills
• Capacity for innovation & decisiveness
• Holistic perspective
• Very good economic understanding (schedule, budget, quality) and high ability to balance and prioritize between quality, cost, and schedule

• Very good English skills are a prerequisite, German skills are an advantage
