This position serves as a IT Project Manager (APPSW/INFOSEC), located in the Department of Justice, Chief Information Officer, Cybersecurity Services Staff, National Classified Systems, Software Engineering Branch in Washington, DC. The primary purpose of this position is to perform advanced Information Technology systems engineering, analysis, project management and support to develop, implement, secure, and sustain critical IT infrastructure and services supporting national security missions.

Major duties

The duties and responsibilities for an IT Project Manager(APPSW/INFOSEC) GS-2210-14 generally include, but are not limited to, the following: Leads software development projects through all phases of the IT project lifecycle, including initiation, requirements definition, planning, design, development, testing, implementation, deployment, and closeout. Develops risk mitigation and contingency strategies and adjust project plans as emerging risks or mission requirements change. Leads technical analysis of software applications, system interfaces, configurations, and operational processes to identify vulnerabilities, system deficiencies, performance issues, and security risks impacting operations and federal information systems. Leads IT teams consisting of software developers, cybersecurity professionals, engineers, IT specialists, contractors, program personnel, and mission stakeholders. Manages requirements, priorities, dependencies, deliverables, and stakeholder expectations throughout the software development life cycle.

Qualifications

To qualify for the position of IT Project Manager (APPSW/INFOSEC), at GS-2210-14, you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below. Basic Qualifications (2210 series): Please refer to the OPM IT Management Series 2210 Qualification Standard for the specific experience requirements for the GS-12 and above positions. AND Specialized Experience: To qualify for the GS-14 grade level, you must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable non-Federal experience. Specialized experience is defined as experience performing the following duties: Monitors contractor performance, deliverables, schedules, technical services, and/or compliance with contract requirements. AND Participates in project that integrate application software with existing hardware, software, databases, servers, and/or enterprise systems. AND/OR Conducts application development, validation, testing, and/or troubleshooting throughout the software development lifecycle.
