Financial Management Analyst

These Financial Management Analysts positions work within the National Fraud Enforcement Division ("Fraud Division"). These positions provide support to the Fraud Division and external agencies within the U.S. Department of Justice. Direct-Hire Authority (DHA) is a hiring authority granted by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) to address critical hiring needs or severe candidate shortages.

Major duties

The duties and responsibilities for a Financial Analyst in the Fraud Division generally include, but are not limited to, the following: Conducts comprehensive financial analysis and evaluation of programs, budgets, and expenditures to ensure compliance with federal laws, regulations, and agency policies. Develops, reviews, and interprets financial data, reports, and statements to support decision-making and resource allocation. Prepares, monitors, and manages budgets, forecasts, and financial plans; identifies trends, variances, and potential issues. Coordinates and collaborates with program managers, budget officers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. Utilizes financial management systems and tools to track, reconcile, and report on financial activities. Prepares briefing materials, presentations, and written reports for senior leadership and external oversight entities.

Qualifications

To qualify for the position of Financial Management Analyst, at GS-0501-13, you must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector utilizing automated financial systems and/or software to solve complex problems in financial reporting; and utilizing data from multiple types of financial reports to provide support to program activities.
