About the Position:

Serves as a Strategic Planner for the Assistant Secretary of the Army (Manpower and Reserve Affairs) (ASA(M&RA), reporting directly to the Executive Director for the ASA (M&RA) who provides general direction and objectives of assigned programs.

Major duties

  • Evaluate government programs to assess issues of significant public interest.
  • Support strategic plans to improve organizational processes within assigned functional areas.
  • Analyze emerging trends to assess their impact on organizational operations.
  • Develop planning documents to support strategic goals.
  • Analyze and provide expert advice on senior staff action coordination.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes includes optimizing government programs by applying qualitative and quantitative analysis to increase operational effectiveness; evaluating program accomplishments to determine progress towards agency goals; analyzing planning guidance to support strategic objectives across the organization; reviewing, analyzing, and providing expert advice on staff action coordination. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-14).
