Do you want to work in a caring environment that moves fast? As the 5th largest French supplier in 10 years, Octopus Energy is a renewable energy supplier acting as a true spearhead for the electro-tech revolution.

How do we do it? We can't revolutionize the world by working like everyone else. We try not to overcomplicate things; here, we evolve in an environment without too many processes or too many rules. The most important thing isn't just to follow the movement, but to create it.

We don't want to create corporate clones. We want you, with your talents, your perspectives, and your unique skills.

If you apply, you are about to join a "noHR" company. Indeed, we do not have an HR team in the "classic" sense of the term.

At Octopus Energy, there is no centralized HR department. And this is often what surprises people outside of Octopus the most.

When there is no HR, everyone is HR: managers are responsible for their teams, and the People Ops team is there to give them the right tools, the right data, and the right reflexes to be autonomous.

For this position, we are primarily looking for someone who loves HR data, tools, and projects, with a strong technical and analytical sensitivity.

The core of the role: structuring and industrializing our HR data to give managers a clear, reliable, and actionable view of their teams, while taking charge of very varied People Ops projects: tool deployment, automation, documentation, compliance matters, or Group projects.

The HR admin / payroll part also exists, but it is less central: you must be able to understand these topics, help the team occasionally, and learn as you go.

What you will do:

- Build and maintain our HR data

You will help us transform our HR data into clear, reliable, and actionable indicators for our managers.

Concretely, you will be able to:

- build HR dashboards for managers and the People team;

- consolidate data coming from several tools: Hibob, Silae, Elevo, Google Sheets, LMS, etc.;

- ensure the reliability of HR data and identify inconsistencies;

- automate reporting, exports, or recurring controls while making them easily maintainable for the future;

- help managers read and use HR data without creating an overly complex system;

- translate sometimes vague operational needs into useful indicators.

We are not just looking for someone who knows how to pull numbers. We are looking for someone who knows how to make HR data truly useful.

- Drive People Ops / tools projects

You will also take charge of varied People Ops projects: tool deployment, automation, documentation, compliance matters, etc.

The idea: start from a sometimes vague need, understand the problem, propose a simple solution, and move it forward with the right people.

You will notably:

- drive or contribute to the deployment of HR tools;

- automate what can be automated;

- clearly document rules and best practices;

- work with People teams, managers, the group, and operational teams.

- Help with HR admin / payroll

Payroll and HR administration are part of the job environment, but they are not the core of the role.

You will be able to help the team on certain ADP / payroll topics, notably to ensure data reliability, improve exports, or answer simple People questions.

No need to be a payroll expert from the start: we can train you. What matters most is your ability to understand, structure, ensure reliability, and improve.

Your profile

This position is for you if:

- you have solid experience, at least 7 years, in People Analytics, HRIS, People Ops, HR projects, payroll / ADP, HR tools;

- You don't necessarily have a classic HR background: a social management control or people/business analyst profile can also match very well, if you want to apply your data rigor to People, tools, and process topics.

- You are very comfortable with Google Sheets / Excel: formulas, file merging, controls, dashboards;

- you know how to make data readable and useful for managers;

- you love HR tools: testing them, configuring them, challenging them, improving them;

- you know how to take a project from A to Z and move forward autonomously;

- you are pragmatic: you prefer a simple solution that works to a perfect process that no one uses;

- you understand major operational HR issues;

- you have a very good level of English (minimum B2-C1), because you will also work with group teams located in the United Kingdom;

- you want to do HR differently, in a culture strong in autonomy and responsibility.
