Building Surveyor – Interim

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Building Surveyor to join a team in Rotherham on an interim basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Building Surveyor with a strong background in refurbishment, capital works, contract administration and project management.

Location: Rotherham, South Yorkshire – Riverside House, Main Street, S60 1AE Rate: £450 per day Umbrella Hours: 37 hours per week Contract: Interim Working Pattern: Hybrid – 3 days onsite

The Role:

You will provide professional building surveying expertise across a range of capital, refurbishment, alteration and construction projects, delivering surveying, design, contract administration and project management services from inception through to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver building surveying services across alteration, refurbishment and construction projects.
• Undertake project management duties on construction and property-related schemes.
• Prepare and review designs, specifications and technical documentation.
• Administer construction contracts and monitor contractor performance.
• Provide professional advice on building construction, maintenance and property-related matters.
• Support procurement and tendering activities where required.
• Monitor project costs, programmes and risks.
• Ensure projects comply with statutory, regulatory, health and safety and technical requirements.
• Undertake Principal Designer responsibilities where suitably qualified and appointed.
• Liaise with contractors, consultants and key stakeholders throughout project delivery.
• Manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.

About You:

We are looking for an experienced Building Surveyor with a background in construction, property or asset management.

You will ideally have:

• Experience working as a Building Surveyor within construction, property or asset management.
• Strong experience of refurbishment, alteration and improvement works .
• Previous contract administration experience.
• Experience project managing construction-related projects.
• Good knowledge of building design, construction methods and technical standards.
• The ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Essential Qualification: Degree or equivalent qualification in Building Surveying or a related construction discipline .
