We are seeking a Customs Broker to join our growing operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience to manage different facets of the industry
*About the Role*
The individual would be responsible for processing import shipments, classifying goods using Harmonized System (HS) codes, and ensuring compliance with Canadian customs regulations. This role plays a key part in keeping freight moving efficiently while maintaining accuracy and regulatory standards.
*Key Responsibilities*
*Classification & Rating*
- Classify products accurately using HS codes
- Determine applicable tariff treatments, duties, and taxes
*Documentation & Release*
- Prepare and process customs entries and releases in a timely manner
- Utilize systems such as CADEX to facilitate shipment clearance
*Compliance*
- Ensure compliance with CBSA regulations and applicable government agencies (CFIA, NRCan, etc.)
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
*Communication*
- Act as a liaison between clients, carriers, and internal teams
- Resolve documentation discrepancies and provide updates on shipment status
*Troubleshooting*
- Investigate and resolve rejected entries or transmission errors
- Identify and correct data inconsistencies
*Qualifications & Requirements*
- Post-secondary education in International Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field preferred
- Experience in customs brokerage, freight forwarding, or a related field
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
