Field Commissioning Engineer $4K - $6K + VB up to 3 months / Transport Provided (BESS, Power Generator) Location: West

Key Responsibilities

• Lead on-site installation and deployment of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
• Oversee commissioning, testing, and system integration through to final handover
• Install and configure electrical distribution boards and integrate systems with diesel generators
• Perform electrical testing using multimeters, insulation resistance testers, and clamp meters
• Interpret and work from electrical schematics and single-line diagrams (SLDs)
• Troubleshoot faults and carry out root cause analysis
• Monitor system performance and apply data insights to support diagnostics
• Ensure all work complies with electrical codes, IEC/UL standards, and safety regulations
• Coordinate with contractors, clients, and internal engineering teams
• Prepare technical documentation, commissioning reports, and system records
• Deliver basic system training to clients and partners
• Support hybrid power integration projects
• Provide field feedback to the product development team to drive system improvements

Requirements

Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline 3–5 years of relevant industry experience Practical experience in:

• Electrical installation and commissioning
• BESS, solar PV, or generator systems
• High-voltage systems and power electronics

Strong knowledge of:

• Diesel generators and electrical distribution systems
• Inverters, power electronics, and energy storage safety practices
• Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical drawings and single-line diagrams
• Competent in the use of electrical test instruments
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills

Willing to travel regionally

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with hybrid power systems (BESS + diesel genset)
• Familiarity with SCADA or remote monitoring platforms
• Knowledge of grid interconnection requirements
• Valid Electrician License or relevant certifications
